The opening ceremony of the II International Scientific-Practical Congress of the Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Azerbaijan was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The Congress is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

AZERTAC reports that the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played first.

Speaking at the event, Professor Chingiz Rahimov, chairman of the Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Azerbaijan, said that the congress dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader is one of the largest events in the field of health care. It was noted that the scientific program of the event, attended by well-known speakers from more than 30 countries, covers not only the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery, but also neighboring professional fields. These include dentistry, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck oncology, otorhinolaryngology and cosmetology.

It was emphasized that the purpose of the event is to discuss the application of the newest technologies and exchange experience in order to raise the medical service to higher levels in this field.

C. Rahimov noted that the congress is being held under the slogan "Let's expand the borders of cooperation".

Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov, chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, speaking at the congress, said that it has become a tradition to hold congresses, conferences, and large-scale events dedicated to the current problems of medicine in Azerbaijan. These events are supported at the state level.

Pointing out that more than 750 medical institutions have been built and equipped with the highest technologies in our country in the last twenty years, the chairman of the committee added: "One of the most important issues facing Azerbaijan's health care is the restoration of destroyed health care facilities in the territories freed from occupation. Successful steps are already being taken in this direction. The construction of a multi-profile hospital complex in ancient Shusha is nearing completion. I am sure that the hospital will be commissioned soon."

Deputy Minister of Health Nadir Zeynalov talked about the work done by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev for the development of health care, and noted that his attention and concern for protecting the health of the population, protecting the nation's gene pool, and ensuring its future are endless.

It was noted that today, as in other fields, the Great Leader's pro-social policy strategy is being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev in the field of health care. Thanks to the fundamental reforms in the healthcare system under the leadership of our head of state, and thanks to the attention and support, many advances have been made in this field.

Other guests speaking at the event noted that the event was a very successful platform for exchanging experiences and ideas and wished success to the work of the congress.

It should be noted that the work of the congress will be concluded on October 14.
